(More details coming soon!)
A 200-hour teacher training is much more than just the process of completing a certification course. It is an experience of re-discovering yourself. In this process, you have the opportunity to push your growth edges, to expand your awareness and understanding of your life and your body, and to dive deeply into a practice which for thousands of years, has been regarded as something sacred and transformational.
This is the first of many 200 Hour Vinyasa Certification offerings held by Moksha Rising. The course will be led by Maryanna Harrington. She has taken great care in developing this program as a space that will cultivate community, as well as personal growth and expansion for her students. Her vision for the program is to create a space that will not only facilitate extremely knowledgeable and excellent yogis and teachers, but that will also provide a container for students to feel safe enough to dig deeply into their fears and perceived limitations, as well as their individual strengths and gifts.
This course is Yoga Alliance Certified and all participants will receive RYT200 Yoga Alliance accreditation upon appropriate completion of all course materials and hours.

A peak into the course content:
History and origin of Vinyasa Yoga and other major yoga lineages:
Understand the different styles of yoga and where they came from. Lineage is important in order to honor the traditions of the yoga practice and stay in accordance with the foundational roots which the lineage provides.

Yogic Philosophy and Theology:
We will dive deeply into the philosophical teachings of yoga. This is often the most transformational part of the training program, as these lessons and philosophical ideas are not often deeply explored in typical yoga classes. We will learn about the Astanga Eight Limbs of Yoga, the different paths of yoga, as well as the body's energy system and its relationship to the practice of yoga. We will explore traditional yogic texts such as the Bhagavad Gita and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and explore how they still impact our lives today.

Yoga Techniques, Training, and Practice:
We will spend hours exploring on our mats, as well as working with each other to learn how to accommodate varying body types. Explore and receive individualized and specific posture breakdowns for each of the traditional yoga poses. Learn cueing, modifications and how to use props, as well as how to safety provide hands on assistance to students. Time will be spent learning yoga anatomy and sequencing in order to safely guide students through varying leveled classes.

Breathwork and Meditation:
Cultivate your pranayama practice through exploration of various breathing exercises that you will be able to offer your students. Learn about the importance of meditation and why the practice is often difficult for most people, as well as techniques to begin and deepen your own practice.

Professional Development
Each student will leave this program fully prepared to begin teaching yoga, if you so choose. Often times this program is taken with the desire to deepen your practice and as an opportunity to simply grow and learn. This is completely fine; you do not have to want to teach to take this program! A 200-hour is an immersive, healing, experience and that alone is enough. Although, you may be surprised by the end of this training how excited you will be to share the practice with others!

Time will be spent covering business essentials, learning everything you need to know to begin teaching in varying settings. From practical logistics, to the details of holding an amazing class for your students, you will understand what it takes to be a yoga teacher, and you will be ready to step off of your mat and up to the front of the room!
